th
Annual National Train Show
®
Rolls Into
Hartford ... For One Time Only
Industry’s Premier Model Railroad Show Arrives at the
Connecticut Convention Center, July 10 - 12, 2009
HARTFORD, CT --- Say the words “model train” and just about
everyone can associate a special memory or personal experience. For the
many thousands of serious model train hobbyists, these words represent a
lifetime of creating extraordinary “worlds of miniature” beyond anyone’s
imagination.
Now, everyone can experience the best that model railroading
has to offer at the one and only National Train Show
®
, July 10 - 12, 2009, at the Connecticut
Convention Center.
One Chance To See The Industry’s Finest . . . Model Trains And So Much More
Each year The National Train Show
®
travels to a different city and state in North America. Since the
first event was held in Pittsburgh, Penn. in 1990, the National Train Show
®
has never once repeated a host
city, making a point of spanning the country from coast to coast and points in between to introduce this
enduring pastime to new generations of potential model railroaders. This year, residents in Hartford and
throughout New England will have an exclusive opportunity to see the newest model railroading products
from the best known manufacturers and retailers, right in their own backyard.
This all-encompassing event hosts hundreds of exhibitors locally, regionally and from around the world.
Together, they will feature endless displays of scale model trains, toy trains, tracks, scenery, building kits,
scale collector’s models, tools, books, videos, software, sound systems, electronics, memorabilia and so
much more – many available for purchase direct on site.
The Show spans 145,000 sq. ft. – close to four football fields! – of the convention floor, and includes a
special 37,500 sq. ft. section dedicated to simultaneously operating model train displays in popular scales
such as Z, N, HO and O from local modeling clubs throughout the Northeast. As you walk through this
section, you will be amazed at the sights and sounds of this extraordinary wonderland:
trains moving around mountains, through tunnels, across lakes
draw bridges opening
steam rising from locomotives & train whistles blowing full blast
model cars that are bigger than a breadbox, or small enough to fit in your pocket
One look at the operating layouts, and you will see first-hand how this Show truly is an
extraordinary wonderland of imagination, design and skill that words simply cannot describe.
