today digital VoIP has gained popularity for long distance
voice transport over traditional analog long distance
services. Wireless VoIP Telephones enable users to gain
access to voice communication from anywhere the IP
signals can be captured by the IP data network. This in turn
has captured the interest of not only the home consumer, but
also the mindset of many major corporations. Nearly all
major wireless carriers are involved in VoIP projects.
Pericom's Single Gate Buffers are often used in wireless
VoIP phones to drive LED signals from the CPU to the
LED Backlight panel. Example 1 of VoIP telephone hardware Pericom’s SOTiny 1-bit Buffer Solution Pericom's PI74STX1G125 single buffer solution is ideal for
the VoIP application. The device buffers the call line signal
output from the CPU, and provides enhanced signal drive
(up to +/-24mA) to the LED's on the LED Backlight Panel.
This guarantees the effective function of the LED (regular
LED requires 10mA drive to turn on). The space saving
SOT-23 and SC70 packaging approach allows the designer
to conveniently place the SOTiny Gate between the CPU
and the LED Panel. Superior Performance The PI74STX1G125 offers the widest operating voltage
range in the industry, from 1.65V to 5.5V, with a typical
propagation delay of 2.7ns, and a maximum standby current
of 20uA. The wide voltage range and low standby current is
perfectly suited for current and next generation power
efficient phone designs. This makes Pericom’s device an
ideal choice over the similar Toshiba TC7SZ125 and
